Z Fest : Z Systems First Annual Film Festival

Welcome to the 1st Annual Z Systems Winter Film Festival - Z FEST !

Z FEST Mission:

The purpose of this film festival is to help support the local independent film/video production market. Our goal as a company is to enhance our relationship with our existing client base and reach out to the community and share all the products and services we provide to Minnesota producers.

Pre-production:
You write the script, pick your genre, scout your locations, and cast your actors ahead of time. You may even rehearse it – but no shooting. Script deadline is Monday Febraury 15th 6:00pm.

The Challenge:
Once we have your final script, we will be handing it off to a group of writers. We won’t alter your script much but we need to add a few surprises to keep the contest honest. Like adding a prop, changing a name, or adding a line of dialog. These things will be the control mechanism for the festival. We also have an even bigger surprise in the works!

Production & Post Production:
The clock starts Monday, February 22 at 6:00 pm and stops on Sunday, February 28, 2010 at 6:00 pm.You have six days to shoot, edit, render, color correct, ADR, create music, title and burn. Then submit your final film of 4-7 min (+ 1 min for credits) to Z Systems.

Showings:
Showings will be held Saturday March 6th from 7-10 pm and Sunday March 7th from 3:30 -5:30 pm at the Oak Street Cinema in Minneapolis. The after-party will be held at Stub & Herbs from 10pm-12am on Saturday and 5:30-7:30 pm on Sunday. Stub & Herbs is just accross the street from the theater.

Judging:
A panel of local video producers will judge the submissions. After judging, Z Systems, inc. will host an awards ceremony (date and time of the awards ceremony to be announced).

Prizes:
First place winner will get the pick of the prizes listed below. Second place winner will get to choose from the remaining prizes, then 3rd place winner will get to choose, etc.

A full copy of Avid's world class editing software - Media Composer. This is a $2500 retail value.
An awesome Conduit Sound “ON SET” Sound rental package. A $1700 retail value.
$1000.00 cash prize.
$500.00 cash prize.

With a limited number of entries this first year, contestants should have amazing odds at winning. This festival will be a fantastic creative output and a lot of fun! We look forward to seeing you there!
